2.  Membership Update:  73 members.    
3. Pursuing delinquent membership dues. Contacting members who are 2 quarters or more behind in dues.
4. Board recommended that we drop Brad Cameron and Brian Cameron due to lack of dues payments
5. Board recommended that we again look into paying dues with Credit Card (Pay Pal or ?) Ken McDowell ? to look into it.

• Kevin Gillian and John Morris looking into possible upgrading of A/C units at the Hut. Still working on getting quotes. Still pursuing additional quotes. Michael Ford has a meeting with Charles Williams to work out details. Stetson Corbitt will contact Michael Ford to see if there has been any progress Re: Public  Safety
• 50^th Anniversary Banquet. We will have a Valentines Party in February of 2021 (Possibly 2/13/2021).  The 50^th anniversary banquet will be held later in 2021 or combination?  Larry Brown will coordinate this event.
• Service to Mankind nomination and  submission to Sertoma Inc.  David Brunson working on it.
• Last Year’s Cup Raffle money was deposited into the Ops account.

 

 

New Business:  

• There was discussion about need to get another set up/clean up person. Was suggestion that there may be one or more women available, but we would have to do the set  up and take down of tables and chairs.  Gene Lott checking on availability of a person?.  Ned Maner?
• Tentative date for semiannual budget meeting is 12/9/2020.

We will be presenting the “Big Check” to the University Hospital Speech and Hearing Department.  They will be giving a short presentation of what they are able to do at the Center.  It is always and interesting and rewarding experience to see all the truly wonderful things they are able to do at the Speech and Hearing Center.  Especially for some of the newer members, we always enjoy their presentation.

The meal prepared by Team Brown: Sirloin Tips, Salad, Baked Potato and dessert.

3. Pursuing delinquent membership dues. Contacting members who are 2 quarters or more behind in dues.
4. Dennis Murphy reported all the members to be recently dropped from our roster. Board members reminded the Board that Roland Meyers asked to be placed on a “Temporary Absence”    Dennis Murphy stated that we do not have a “Temporary Absence”  allowance for members,  but that when Roland wishes to  rejoin, he may do so with an “Administrative Fee” to Sertoma Inc.

The event will be at the University Hospital Speech and Hearing Center on October 9,2020 at 09:15 AM

We have all been invited to attend the presentation of the “Big Check” to University Hospital Speech and Hearing Center. This has become an annual event for us and the Speech and Hearing Center.  We encourage everyone to attend, especially if you have never been to the Center.  Speech and Hearing assistance is what our club is about and you will be very impressed to see what all they do for speech and hearing impaired children and adults in the CSRA.  It is also impressive to see the people there and to see how much they appreciate what we are able to help them do for the community.

There will be some light refreshments and there will be news reporters and photographers.

The Speech and Hearing Center is located on Harper Street between 15th Street and St. Sebastian Street.  It is a dark red brick building. There is ample parking in the lot.
