Hook a Kid on Golf – Positive Feedback…

August 4, 2014

For those of you that may be a bit shy about helping out…read this!  Good job Jonathan.
“I was able to go this morning.  It was a lot of fun.  Even though most of the kids have a hard time grasping some of the fundamentals, you can see that they’re having a good time.  I was working with one young man chipping and when he finally was able to strike the ball properly, it made that unique sound and even he could tell he’d done something right.  It was great.  Anyways, to anyone who is nervous about helping out, just go.  A smile from one of those kids is worth it.”

Dear Members,

Your help is needed…

During the week of  August 4  through 8, Hook A Kid on Golf will be hold a week-long golf instruction clinic for young kids of the CSRA.  North Augusta Sertoma is a sponsor of this event, but they need more than our money; they need some adult assistance, helping the various pros that will be operating the clinic.

The event will be held at the River and runs from 8:30 until 11:30;  each day they need four volunteers to assist (you don’t have to do all four days).  Please consider this opportunity, it sounds like fun and will probably be many of these kids first exposure to the game.

There will be a sign up sheet at tomorrow nights meeting, let’s see if we can fill the time slots.

Thanks,

Schmidt

REMINDER – if you have not already done so, please sign up for the family picnic per the instructions below.  We need to know how many to plan for…

************************************

Once again, North Augusta Sertoma will be hosting a Family Picnic on August 9 at Rowland’s pond near Edgefield. This is the same venue where we had the picnic at in 2012, and everyone who attended had a great time.

Planning is still in process, but Gene Lott will be heading up the committee and Larry Brown and Johnny Morris have volunteered to provide us with an ample supply of fried fish and hush puppies… and yes, there might even be a grit or two.

Save the date, and contact Gene Lott (gene.lott@gmail.com) to see how you can assist with these festivities, or you can reply to this message and it will be forwarded to Gene. More details will follow as they are figured out.
